To guide the design process, I began by uncovering the core needs of our users. I crafted a comprehensive survey that we distributed via email to over 5,000 individuals in our target demographic, gathering critical insights into their preferences, challenges, and priorities.
The survey findings revealed that users prioritized three core functions: a seamless aggregation of streaming services, robust cross-service content search capabilities, and integrated in-app ratings.
Building on these insights, I proceeded to conduct a thorough competitive audit of the market, deepening my understanding of the existing landscape and identifying opportunities for differentiation.
After a comprehensive competitor audit that helped us identify market gaps and user pain points, we transitioned to developing our initial prototype. To validate our design decisions and ensure the product met real user needs, we conducted unmoderated testing with 20 users. Their independent interactions provided invaluable, unbiased insights. Below are the most significant observations and feedback gathered from this testing phase.
In conclusion, our iterative approach to refining the user experience has paid off. By integrating user feedback and continually refining our prototype, we increased engagement by 18.75%, resulting in 42.75% of users indicating they would install the app upon launch. This notable improvement validates our design direction and sets a robust foundation for future innovation and growth.
